    Description

    NEW Garmin GTN650. 14/28v. Comes with rack, back plate, antennae, complete installation kit and manuals. Everything shown in the pictures is included (except the airplane).
    I bought this for my experimental Compair 6 but it doesn't look like I'm going to get to install it due to other priorities. I got it from a Helicopter service and it is supposed to be a helicopter model (GTN650H) and database with the extra 30k point low altitude terrain database. It says it's a GTN650 on the data plate. It may just be the data card that makes it a GTN650H model. The images on the GTN650H on the internet show it with an airplane symbol as opposed to a helicopter so I have to assume that's what it has since I never powered it up. It's been sitting in my hangar for about two years and it doesn't look like I'll get to install it or the Sorcerer A/P I bought. Best laid plans.
    This is due for two Garmin mods as is any unit from Garmin occasionally. A Garmin dealer will send it to Garmin for you for the mods to be done. Mod 4 is required. Mod 5 is optional and not applicable to this unit by serial

    A: Hi, I am not a Garmin dealer or avionics store. I am just an individual selling a GTN650 that I wanted to install in my airplane. You can check with various  avionics shops for used GTN 650's. They will not sell you a new certified unit like this one. They will only sell you a new one for an experiment aircraft. The certified ones will only be sold through their shop or another certified Garmin shop. They will only sell you a certified unit if they do the installation for you in a type certificated airplane like a Cessna. They sell GTN650's for experimental airplanes through companies like Aircraft Spruce.  They are more $ than this one.
    There are new and used used ones available from avionics shops like Gulf Coast Avionics. You can find a few used ones on eBay occasionally. The avionics shops will want more $ for a used one than I am asking for this new one.
